Thermal Evaporation PVD Vacuum Coating Machine
Thin film deposition by thermal evaporation is a physical vapor deposition (PVD) technique for creating thin films of various materials including copper, silver, gold, silicon dioxide, and indium tin oxide. This thermal evaporation deposition process involves heating the source material in a high-vacuum chamber (pressure < 10⁻⁵ Torr), which increases its vapor pressure and results in the formation of a uniform thin film on the substrate.
Thermal evaporation systems utilize resistive heating of source holders, which can be metallic boats or baskets made of refractory wire (W or Mo) coated with aluminum oxide. The material evaporates from the heated holder and deposits onto substrates positioned above the source.
