  1. Clean the substrates before coating.
  2. Randomly inspect the appearance of lenses to check for edge cracks, scratches, and contamination; fully inspect the lens clamping situation (lens tilt).
  3. Confirm the lenses to be coated (quantity, model, and surface) and make corresponding records.
  4. Load the umbrella: Mount the lenses from the packaging box onto the umbrella frame of the coating machine (note: wear gloves and hold the edges of the coating plate, avoiding contact with the lens surfaces).
  5. Distinguish the types and surfaces of the lenses that need coating.
  6. Clean the area around the crucible and electron gun with a copper brush, vacuum up debris, and add coating materials.
  7. Check if the crystal oscillator 片 and monitoring plates are in good condition and positioned correctly.
  8. Confirm there are no foreign objects inside the machine, then close the door for vacuum pumping and heating.
  9. Select the corresponding coating process.
  10. Operators monitor the coating process.
  11. Unload the umbrella: Remove the coated lenses from the umbrella frame and place them in the packaging box.
  12. Random inspection: Focus on checking for coating defects, fogging, abnormal colors, and contamination.
  13. Spectral measurement using Olympus reflectometers and U4100 spectrophotometers.
  14. Randomly pick 1 piece from each circle of the umbrella frame, totaling 5 circles.
  15. Coating adhesion test (using 3M tape to stick and pull the coating 3 times).
  16. After passing the spectral measurement, the products can be delivered.


Some consumables required for coating production:


  1. SiO₂ particles or rings (Φ300Φ230T7.5mm), selection depends on machine configuration.
  2. TiO₂ particles.
  3. Crystal oscillator 片: Filtex 6MHz or INFICON 6MHz.
  4. Monitoring plate: BK7 Φ142801.8mm, selection depends on machine configuration.
  5. Copper crucible, selection depends on machine configuration.
  6. Aluminum foil: thickness 0.05mm * width 610mm.
  7. Electron gun filament, selection depends on machine configuration.
  8. Ion source consumables, selection depends on machine configuration.


Components for daily maintenance of equipment need to be selected according to the machine model.


Optical coating machine brands are divided into glass coating machines and plastic coating machines with different configurations. Sizes can be selected as 900mm, 1100mm, 1300mm, 1350mm. Brands include Japanese Koyo, OPTORUN, Taiwan Longpian, Japanese Showa, and German Leybold Nextrone.
